CAD/CAM-manufactured, patient-individual abutments are one of the greatest achievements of digitization in dental technology. Art is never a standard, just as the individual patient situation is never a standard. Digital abutments allow planning and reproducibility of the dental artistic implementation. 

The design can be created from the ideal crown shape in so-called 'backward planning'. By optimally designing the transition from implant to crown anatomy, the individual abutment plays a significant role in the overall esthetics of the restoration. Form and function allow a natural shaping of the gingiva at the soft tissue exit and an imitation of root cross sections, similar to the natural tooth in this area. Anatomical emergence profiles can be planned individually. 

Due to the proven advantages of hybrid abutments with prefabricated titanium adhesive bases (Ti bases), the competence for individual solutions should nowadays be a standard in every laboratory portfolio. 

If the CAD and CAM processes are well coordinated and the right techniques and components are used, high precision can be achieved.
