IDS 2021 – Review

Dental Direkt at IDS 2021 - We have dared, and that's a good thing!

We were convinced from the very beginning that we wanted to participate in IDS 2021 in Cologne, despite all the imponderables, if the trade show organizer gave the green light for IDS. We were so looking forward to seeing our customers LIVE again.

As a German, internationally operating company, Dental Direkt would like to strengthen Germany as a business location in general and the German dental industry in particular and expand existing potentials. As a manufacturer of innovative dental materials and provider of dental technologies, the company has a responsibility to customers and partners to inform them about all innovations related to dental technology and medicine.   

A live trade show can be supplemented by virtual features, but never replaced by a virtual trade show on an equal footing. The input our employees took away from IDS 2021 is great and far exceeds our expectations. Overall, the trade show atmosphere was - as expected - much more relaxed, which was particularly beneficial to us in the personal discussions. In retrospect, these were longer, more intensive and clearly more binding than in the past. While some saw the corona-related measures and visitor forecasts as a hurdle for IDS 2021, we found that this year's dental show brought a professional, high-quality audience to Cologne that was interested in new business contacts.

Our Dental Direkt trade show highlight: Under the slogan "I have it", we launched our brand campaign cube - teeth for tomorrow. Our goal: We want to share knowledge and break new ground with our laboratories in a cooperative partnership. Future cube labs can look forward to marketing support measures, knowledge transfer on all aspects of zirconium oxide as a dental restorative material, and a strong network. 

Last but not least: We had a lot of new products (from our "Polymer Heroes" with new gingiva blanks and flexible splint materials to intraoral scanners, 3D printers and milling machines) that we wanted to present at IDS 2021.

Dental Direkt would like to thank all customers and partners and is already looking forward to the upcoming IDS 2023 in Cologne.
